I got some quiet days ahead, I'm planning to turn into a hermit and finish the chapter once and for all.

I'm keeping this one short and to the point. The show was gorgeous, witty, gorgeous.

An anonymous nudge

From time to time a reader will send me feedback and I'm so deeply touched. Sometimes the reader provides an e-mail and I'm able to thank them--though probably not as eloquently as I feel. Other times the person remains anonymous, like J in London who said she spent too much time reading at the expense of spending it with her family over the holidays. How sweet of a compliment is that?

In the (many lately) moments when I'm struggling to find the words to convey my thoughts and get into a steady writing pace, messages from readers keep me going. I intend to write my way through this slump and I'm two scenes out. I've got a break coming up week after next but ideally I'd like to have this chapter completed so I can devote the free time to drafting chapter 6.

Funny thing is how many times the names Noah, Sascha and Isabel have come up. And the weirdest coincidence happened last Tuesday while watching Castle's Sucker Punch episode. One of the villains was named Finley Rourke. That's Noah's brother!

New Year, New Habits

Well, Happy New Year! Typing that makes me smile because this time next week we'll be into February. The holidays were busy since Thanksgiving came on the heels of the move. Then came Christmas.

I still have things to rearrange and get rid of since moving two months ago. There have been a lot of distractions plus my scattered attention span that interfere with my writing. And I've picked up the habit of watching TV again.

I caught last Tuesday's Office marathon on TBS and now I'm hooked. Blame it on Jim and Pam. I love, love, love the way their romance is written. There's so much in the little moments and missed opportunities between them that rings true. You feel like you're in a big secret but it plays out in a subtle way. I haven't yet seen the episodes where they become a couple and head towards marriage so I'll be tuning in every Tuesday and now I'm planning to watch on Thursday nights too.



Three weeks ago I got roped into watching Castle thanks to the crackling, tug-of-war banter between Beckett and Castle.

Packing it all up

It's been over two months since I posted an update. With a snap of fingers, the weeks have flown by. The remodel ran longer than planned, which caused the move date to be delayed. The tile order that was supposed to take two weeks to come in, wound up taking five. The last nine weeks have been go, go, go. And it looks like the new computer that is so desperately needed, is going to have to wait.

How I wish I had a cabin in the mountains where I could retreat to and rest. Of course it would have a functional computer, internet, and Borders Bookstore nearby. (Their caramel lattes put Starbucks to shame).

The writing bug returned thanks to my friend Kaia and I was able get over the hump that pestered me. Many times, I wanted to give up, figured no one would care to read CBG anymore and there is another story on the back burner I've wanted to get into. Soular has also been en her own gentle way. I'm grateful for the support and inspiration.

I'm longing to have a day where I can shut away for hours and type to my heart's content. There are about one to two scenes to finish. Then I have to edit the whole chapter. With the way things are going, I don't know if there'll be time to get it ready for Thanksgiving.

Back to packing now. It's odd how the stuff just isn't disappearing!
